This is one of the 4 prototype predecessors to the Jem that were made by Performance guitar as per Steve's direction back in the 80's. This is the "Cowgirl" guitar. The other three prototypes: "The Annie Fanny" guitar was given away by Steve to a tech, The "Playboy" guitar was smashed into little pieces and flushed down a toilet in Florida after the last gig on the David Lee Roth Eat em and Smile tour (because the guitar gave Steve so much trouble through the tour) and the 4th one "Spots" is still owned by Steve and in his possession. The aesthetic of these 4 guitars was performed by Elwood Francis Patrick who was acting as Steve's tech at the time.

Steve gave the "Cowgirl" guitar to one of his dear friends, Ray Scherr, as a thank you for being invited to contribute to "Dinner At Rays". It was used on the Eat Em and Smile tour.

bio:

I grew up listening to Led Zeppelin and progressive rock - that background has always given me a penchant for the more conceptual side of rock music.
I make music to push my own buttons. I've always been driven by an addiction to create sounds that are unique, not better than what other people do, just different.
The most important thing in my life is trying to achieve some sort of spiritual balance because everything flows from that. When I'm looking back on my life when I'm 70, I want to be proud of the contributions I've made to society, not just in terms of music, but socially too. That's what drives me these days.
